SPRING
& FALL RAFTING (Hudson, Moose, & Black Rivers) |
| We recommend
each person bring the following for cold weather rafting. Adjust these
recommendations to your personal needs. If you tend to be cold, bring more
warm clothing. We'll start from the bottom up. |
- Fleece or wool socks
- we provide neoprene booties, but you'll need twin socks underneath. No
cotton socks, they hold water and keep you cold.
- Thermal underwear
-
(polypropylene, thermax, or
acrylic - NOT COTTON) you'll want some more insulation under the wetsuit
during April and May. Fleece pants work well also. You'll want both a top
and bottom.
- Windbreaker or splash top
- this will be your first line of
defense against the water. This will be worn on top of your
wetsuit.
- Fleece or wool hat -
must
be able to fit under your helmet. Skull caps work the best.
- Neoprene gloves - Can be
rented at Cunningham's Ski Barn. OR bring thin work gloves.
